eskimosoup try their hand at comedy?!

4 members of the eskimosoup team have stepped up to try their hand at comedy as part the Brid Comedy Festival this July.

John Gilbert (Marketing Director), Chris Middleton (Managing Director), Shane Cane (Graphic Designer) and Phill Wilson (Technical Support) have all volunteered their services to take part in the Art of Comedy workshop at Spa Bridlington on Sunday 25th July. We know some, but not all have started to work on their material already!

John Gilbert, marketing director of eskimosoup will be one of the team trying his hand at comedy for the first time: “The idea of making a room of people laugh sounds like a real buzz, though I think as the date gets nearer we are starting to realise what we have got ourselves into. We are not so deluded as to think that are we are going to be better on stage than we are at the organising the festival, though there is already some friendly rivalry amongst us as to who will perform least badly when it comes to putting our money where our mouth is. We just hope we all get at least some laughs in the right places.”

Taking place at East Yorkshire coastal town of Bridlington between 24 and 31 July; Brid Comedy Festival boasts 27 shows taking place at venues including the Spa Bridlington, the Coachman, the Expanse Hotel and Rags Hotel, Bar and Restaurant. Acts performing at the festival include well-known comedians Jimmy Carr and Roy Walker as well as Edinburgh Festival preview shows from acts including: Jason Cook, Andrew Bird, Pete Jonas and Mike Newall.
